Welcome to Frey'd Glass!
My name is Kevin Frey, owner and aspiring glass artist, web developer, and programmer. I learned how to do my glass work through mainly Youtube videos (big thanks to Revere Glass and his tutorials!) and glass forums (The Melting Pot, Lampwork Etc., /r/lampwork). I originally got into glass work as a way to get up and start moving again after getting viral meningitis in 2007, and being bed-ridden for several years. I built up a home studio over time, and managed to make a few things here and there. After recovering a bit, I decided to put the glass work aside for the most part and go back to school to study computer science and information systems. I recently discovered however, that there are now several local studios with live glass workers to watch, talk to, and learn from, as well as several local glass suppliers I can go to. This combination, as well as others being interested in starting glass work, have led me to pursue my glass work again. I am now working on saving up for a full studio that I can collaborate with fellow artists at, and bring even more people into the lampworking industry. I greatly appreciate everyone who helps make this happen by purchasing our glass, allowing us to buy more oxygen, propane, glass, tools, etc. and continue our journey into glass. It's expensive, but we all love it, and hope you will too!
All glass sold here is handmade art made by me or one of my shop members, in our studio in Southern California. All art on this site is intended for display purposes only, and as everything is hand made, the item you purchase may differ slightly from the stock photo. Feel free to send an e-mail if you have any questions, or comments.
